Our Story
Today, Gender Solutions™️ is a household name, recognized across the globe for our quality products and distinctive shipping boxes. It wasn’t always this way, however. Our history is a part of who we are, and we are proud of the difference we’ve made in the lives of all of our clients.
The Beginnings
In 1909, Taylor Smith opened the first Gender Store along Main Street in downtown Springfield. Taylor worked tirelessly to bring the finest genders from the trading ports of the far east to the local community, and success was nearly instantaneous. Discriminating consumers from across the country soon flocked to Taylor’s store, often purchasing genders as quickly as the shelves could be restocked.
Sensing a strong demand for custom, artisan-crafted genders, Taylor partnered with Avery Jones, a local gendercrafter with a highly-regarded reputation. Soon, the two innovators were working around-the-clock, manufacturing custom genders for customers of the Gender Store.
Expansion
Taylor and Avery quickly realized that the Gender Store was both popular and profitable, and set about expanding to additional locations. A second Gender Store opened in 1911 in nearby Chester, and a new, larger factory was built in 1912. This laid the foundation for the expansion to Clinton, Dayton, and Lebanon in 1913.
By 1916, there were more than 120 locations throughout the tri-state region, serving towns and neighborhoods with the finest genders.
